Q: What is PMP?
A: PriceMatchPro.com (or PMP) is a website dedicated to aiding consumers to get
the best possible price on their purchase. PMP is a consumer advocate website similar
to SlickDeals.net, FatWallet.com, and RetailMeNot.com .
Q: Who is PMP? (aka the story behind PMP)
A: PMP was founded by 2 prominent members of the SlickDeals.net & FatWallet.com
community. IF you look closely around the site and pay attention to nicknames you’ll
know which ones ;) ! They posted and contributed many pricematches and noticed that
fellow members and consumers rejoiced alike. They wanted to help them benefit even
more. So, in 2007 they began developing what is now PMP. Unaware of how fast it
would catch on – they strived to keep up with the BETA test of the website. In an
effort to keep up with the tremendous demand they developed a members section to
encourage community involvement and build loyalty. It was well received and now
they could afford a small staff to keep the pricematches accurate and new. PMP is
now the leading website on the internet for pricematches.

Q: How Do I Submit a Price Match?
Simply click here to go to our submission page and follow the instructions.
Q: How Do I Report A Dead PriceMatch?
A: On the individual pricematch page there is a button to “Report” a problem or
issue with the pricematch. Please choose the specific issue and a moderator will
review that pricematch and modify or remove it as necessary.
Q: Why Rate A PriceMatch?
A: The rating system is to help give you the consumer a better idea of which pricematches
is better than others.
Q: Why Comment On PriceMatches?
A: For a variety of reasons. Users can comment on PriceMatches in order to give
other consumers important information about that specific pricematch. Example: Specific
instructions on how to obtain that pm, how to add a coupon or additional discount
to that pm, information on sizes or availability, etc. etc.
Q: What is a PriceMatch?
A: A PriceMatch (also referred to as a PM) is a relatively new concept. It’s fairly
simple – you are matching the price of a product from one retailer to another. The
goal is to achieve a better price than you had before. This is achieved through
the use of competitive pricematching (110%/115%pricematching) also in combination
with coupons or other discounts. Here is an example:
In this example the consumer wants to purchase a pair of shoes. At Retailer A, they
are offered for $50, but at Retailer B the same pair of shoes is $40. The consumer
would contact Retailer A and request a pricematch for their purchase. They would
return $10 to the consumer in order to stay competitive with Retailer B.
In some cases Retailer A will offer the consumer more money (IE:$12-$15) back in
order to beat the competition and get your patronage. This is where pricematching
becomes really advantageous for consumers.
Q: How Do I Get A PriceMatch?
A: It’s relatively easy to obtain a pricematch on your purchase and save tons of
money. The usual process involves contacting the customer service of your original
purchase and providing them with information on how to find the cheaper price. This
is usually accomplished by providing them with a URL of the exact location on the
competitions site. The process is very simple and once you do it once or twice you
will find that it’s really easy. One very important thing to keep in mind is that
every store has a different pricematch policy. Please make sure you familiarize
yourself with this policy before contacting the retailer. For instance some retailers
only pricematch specific stores, others require their competition to have the exact
color and size of the item your pricematching. These are just a few examples of
pricematch differences. Again, it’s very important for you to familiarize yourself
with their policies before attempting to obtain a pricematch.
Q: How Do I Contact Their Customer Service?
A: Again, every store is very different in the way they wish for you to contact
them regarding a price match. For some, you can simply e-mail. For others you will
need to call in. Our goal was to create a comments section in the individual pricematch
pages to help you understand from your others how you can achieve this pricematch.
Q: Why do you have premium membership?
A: In order to incentivize people to continually send pricematches thus keeping
our database fresh and full. This also keeps the integrity of our site high. As
you might know pricematches are usually very limited offers and by keeping them
semi-exclusive you’ve got a better chance at getting them.
Q: Why do you offer paid membership?
A: In order to keep the content moderated and consistent we employee several people
whom must constantly review the pricematches. Unlike your other favorite websites
we are not monetized by affiliate programs and advertising.
Q: Seriously, why do you offer paid membership?
A: Seriously… we gotta pay the bills. It’s $10/month if you can’t afford that to
save hundreds of dollars then submit a price match already!
Q: What if I want to cancel?
A: No problem, we’re not sneaky. If you want out, we’ll cancel your account right
away. Simply fill out this cancel account request form.
Q: How do you charge me?
A: We accept all major credit cards. We use 2Checkout to process your monthly payment.
You can also pay via pay pal.
Q: How long does it take to get my account?
A: Depends. If you paid then your account is created instantly. If you submit a
pricematch or advertisement it will take 2-3days to process your request.
Q: What if I submit a duplicate pricematch?
A: Our duplicate pricematch verification system will determine who sent it first.
If that was you, then you will receive an account. Sadly, if that wasn’t you then
you will not receive a membership.
